American actor Patrick Dempsey, of Grey’s Anatomy and Disney’s Disenchanted fame, paid a special visit to Purple House on his last day in Ireland.

Patrick spent his time at Purple House meeting staff and volunteers, who gave him an overview of their roles and their work supporting families affected by Cancer.
Patrick later said on his social media
‘My final and quite possibly most impactful day in Ireland visiting Purple House. Grateful for the work they do each and everyday to support those affected by cancer. Felt very at home here.’
The visit was the start of a connection between Purple House and the Dempsey Centre, and the two charities look forward to meeting each other in the coming months to discuss collaboration and ways to support Cancer patients on both sides of the Atlantic.
