In light of the recent controversy at Console, we want to reassure & remind our clients & supporters of the Governance & Transparency measures we have in place at Purple House over the past 26 years.
We value your support, as without it, we would not have been able to provide 2,060 Cancer Support sessions in 2015.
Purple House is a registered charity (CHY No 12589) and we are also registered with the Charities Regulator and submit annual reports to his office.
We operate to the highest standards in Governance & Transparency and we were one of the first organisations to adopt The Governance Code. This is a set of guidelines of good practice outlining how organisations are run. (www.governancecode.ie)
Our accounts are audited each year by external auditors and are published on our website. You can view them in the Governance & Transparency section of our website here: https://www.purplehouse.ie/about-us/governance-and-transparency/
In relation to our fundraising efforts, we are signed up to the Irish Charities Tax Reform Group’s ‘Guiding Principles of Fundraising’ code. (www.ictr.ie)
Purple House is governed by a Board of Trustees. All of our board members are volunteers, receive no remuneration of any kind and meet regularly to oversee the work of Purple House, and ensure that governance processes are in order at all times.
Purple House is at the heart of the community & is funded almost entirely by voluntary donations and is not funded by any national organisations or charities.
