Hozier kicks off Purple House Cancer Support’s 25th Anniversary by Donating One of his Signed Guitars!

The ‘Take Me To Church’ signer & Wicklow native has donated one of his signed guitars and also a signed copy of his debut album Take Me To Church, which reached No.2 in the US charts, to Purple House Cancer Support.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to kick it off, we have teamed up with Boots Ireland & SnipsWigs to hold a Look Good Feel Better morning on Thursday 1st October in The Strand Hotel Bray from 11am-1.30pm.

All of Purple House Cancer Support’s services in Bray & Dun Laoghaire will be closed for the Summer break from Friday 31st July until Monday 17th August at 10am.

With 1 in 3 people affected by Cancer in Ireland, the demand on our services is increasing each year.  As an organisation who receives less than 20% state funding, fundraising is required to keep Purple House open.

Our team of volunteers will be at Groove Festival again this year in Killruddery Estate.  The aim of our presence at the festival is to ensure you have fun in the sun! We will have suncream giveaways thanks to the Boots Soltan range, SmartSun UK UV wristbands, an Cancer Support information zone, with information on the services provided by Purple House Cancer Support, face painting, swingball & general fun! A research paper commissioned by Purple House Cancer Support entitled ‘Transport as a Practical and Psycho-social Support for People with Cancer’ written by Mags Crean & Ciaran Carroll showed that the volunteer hospital transport service provided by the Cancer charity is more cost effective to the state and is a vital support to those receiving treatment for Cancer.
