Helen Eyre O’Connor cycled a distance of over 200km last October in memory of her dear sister Pauline McKenzie

Helen (68) was one of a group of 21 people from the Bray area who cycled the length of the Canal du Midi in France from Toulouse to Sete, all for Purple House Cancer Support.

We are all great at helping out and looking after others, but when it comes to asking for or seeking help for ourselves, that’s a different matter.
I went through breast cancer some years ago, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
I was going along fine, got the five year “all clear” and all of a sudden the seriousness of the illness and what had happened to me hit home…

Lauren Kelly from Spin1038 Encourages young people to be Cancer Aware this Summer

Lauren Kelly, presenter of SpinTalk on Spin1038 has been announced as an Ambassador of Purple House Cancer Support and this Summer she is using her role to remind young people of the importance of being Cancer Aware.

With 1 in 3 people affected by Cancer in Ireland, the demand on our services is increasing each year.  As an organisation who receives less than 20% state funding, fundraising is required to keep Purple House open.
